The terrain would slow Clegane down and make it nearly impossible to get a good hit at Selmy, especially if both of them are wearing their armor. He's far smarter and quicker than Clegane and would be able to use the terrain to his advantage. He can easily wield his six-foot long greatsword, giving him a much longer reach than Selmy has with his shield and blade and I doubt even his armor would be of any use against a weapon that large held by a man that strong.
